The 2014 Local Business Charity Awards
The 2014 Local Business Charity Awards were held in a field, on a warm September evening in Ullenwood, Gloucestershire. Catering was from local charity The Wiggly Worm with their Little Green Wiggly machine and a local band played after the awards. With an inquisitive flock of sheep for company, the event was attended by over 50 people made up of finalists and representatives from the local charities the following awards were presented:
The Corporate award This award was to recognise a local Gloucestershire business who had gone over and above the call of duty in their support of a local Gloucestershire charity. The Individual Award
This award was to recognise an individual, working in a local Gloucestershire company, who deserved recognition for their work to support a local Gloucestershire company.
Won by: Geof Robins, Printwaste Recycling and Shredding
For his work with: (Geof was actually nominated by TWO charities, The Butterfly Garden and The Cobalt Appeal)
Sadly Geof could not be present on the evening but his award was proudly accepted by his brother Don Robins and his son Tom Robins, who all work with him in the family business. Read what Don Robins had to say about the awards here. The judges also felt that Mr Graham Kimber, a driver from Downtons who's work for the Cobalt Appeal should not go unnoticed and unanimously decided to award him a runner-up, Individual Award.
