Commenting on the finalists Carl Shuker, CEO of A-Plan Holdings said,
‘This is our second year of sponsoring the awards in Oxfordshire, and now also in Berkshire and they continue to inspire and delight. The nominations we received this year told stories of altruistic companies and individuals, working tirelessly behind the scenes, without praise or payment, simply for the good of others. As a company that encourages our own staff to get involved with local charities, we applaud their generosity and thank them for their efforts. Oxfordshire would be a poorer place without them. As ever, choosing finalists isn’t easy but choose we must; we thank every single one of you for your nominations and look forward to meeting the finalists at Thomley in a few weeks’ time.’
The finals will be held on Thursday 29 August 2019 at Thomley, Menmarsh Road, Worminghall, HP18 9JZ. The event will be catered for by the charity’s own catering team, using food ‘Grown, Sown, Harvested and Reared’ in Oxfordshire, to reflect the finest tastes and flavours in the county.
Although nominations for the awards are now closed, charities and businesses may continue to list themselves on the free ‘Support A Local Charity’ page, which aims to match up businesses and charities in a skills and need swap. https://www.localbusinesscharityawards.co.uk/support-a-local-charity-oxfordshire.html
