Adult Dyslexia - overcoming barriers to education and employment, and building confidence and a positive attitude
The size of your charity (eg 1-5 staff) including volunteers
8 part time self employed and 10 volunteers
What kind of help d o you need?
All types of help will be welcome - business, financial, marketing, accounting, social media and funding. It would be good to set up a relationship which would be mutually beneficial in raising the profile of our charity and giving an awareness to our partner, of the impact of dyslexia in the workplace and how support can be given.
Use of a meeting room would be helpful especially in the Maidenhead area so we can run our successful Parents' course in 2019 - sponsorship of this would be great.
Anything else you want to tell us?
We have been operating for over 15 years and have given life changing support to many adults allowing them to move on at work and in employment with confidence and positivity. Our services are highly subsidised otherwise our client would be unable to access this support. We are having to restructure and have a plan in place and seek to set up relationships with local businesses.

Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is an award-winning charity that provides essential support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families across Berkshire and the surrounding communities.
John and Fiona Devine from Windsor set up the charity in memory of their extraordinary little boy who sadly passed away in 2006 at the age of 8 from a rare brain tumour. Their personal experience, and subsequent extensive research, led them to realise that there was a vital need for a local children’s hospice service and hospice.
Our children’s hospice service means very different things for each child and their family and as such our care is very personal. Whatever and wherever the need, we are dedicated to bringing comfort and care to these families. Our services include: respite care, specialist play, symptom management, family support, end of life care and bereavement support. Care is delivered either at home, in hospital, in schools or within our very own children’s hospice, which was opened in Summer 2018. Designed to complement the community service, the hospice has state-of-the-art facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool, sensory room, music room, games room, family accommodation and bereavement suite.
We currently support around 120 children and their families, but we are committed to growing our service and reaching out to every child and their family that needs us. In Berkshire alone we know that there are over 600 children with life-limiting conditions.
Almost all the money we need to deliver our children’s hospice service comes from voluntary donations and every penny raised make a real difference to local families.
