GDPR Presentation - 15 May 2018

Jelf presents:  GDPR for Charities – Everything you NEED to know in 1hr!

As founders and sponsors of the Local Business Charity Awards in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, Jelf are well aware that many charities are very small organisations, run by generous people, who devote much of their spare time working for the good of others and we thank them for their efforts.

They also know that their time and resources are short, which is the reason they’ve designed a 1hr GDPR talk specifically for them. It will be short and to the point, telling charities exactly what they need to know to become GDPR complaint. Their experts will be on-hand to answer any questions you have after the talk, should you need more information.

  • The Legal implication of GDPR – 30 mins.  Presented by: Sarah Hopton, Corporate, Commercial & Intellectual Property Associate, DAC Beachcroft LLP.  Sarah has worked in a range of industries on GDPR compliance programmes and privacy issues. She will explore the major changes that the new General Data Protection Regulation will bring for charities and some of the myths and common misunderstandings about privacy rules. Sarah will also look at the key actions to take in order to process personal data under the new regime. And some practical examples of what can go wrong.
  • Cyber Protection – 30 mins. Presented by: Gemma Sword-Williams ACII, Insurance and Risk Consultant, Jelf Insurance Brokers.
Cybercrime is one of the fastest growing economic crimes in the UK. Charities of all sizes are a target. But cybercrime isn't the only risk, with many breaches being caused by accidents or human error. Whatever the cause, the consequences of cyber incidents can be extreme. Gemma will explore how risk management and cyber insurance can help charities prepare for the unexpected to protect their reputation.
