What the companies said...
We were delighted to receive many phone calls and emails following the event, from companies who attended.
I am thrilled that you are planning the 2015 Local Business Charity Awards. We had a brilliant time being part of it for 2014 and I am sure that the Awards will go from strength to strength.
We certainly enjoyed the local element of the Awards. It was incredible to hear how much local Gloucestershire Businesses and individuals are doing to support such a diverse range of fantastic charities throughout the County. The stories we heard at the Awards Ceremony really paid tribute to many unsung heros who do so much great work, and the Awards gave them a wonderful platform to be acknowledged and applauded. It was also such an honour to be part of a process that raised awareness of so many local charities who work tirelessly for their good causes.
In terms of PR and local awareness, we had an amazing response to our nomination and to our award as winners. News of the award seemed to travel far and wide and we had such a lot of positive feedback.
The whole staff really embraced the Awards, and although only two of us represented the firm on the night, the news of our nomination was met with great excitement and huge enthusiasm; it meant a great deal to everyone that their efforts – no matter how small – were recognised in such a fantastic way. When we were announced as actual winners, the news quickly cascaded through to everyone and the delight in the office the next morning was enormous. It gave everyone such a boost and made us all more determined than ever to continue supporting local charities in the way that we do.
We all thought that the Awards evening itself was absolutely perfect and you had set just the right tone and atmosphere in the most lovely location, with a brilliant band, superb food and great company. It could not have been better and was a really special occasion.
Basically it was all really well organised, we did not detect a single hiccup despite it being the first time the awards had been run and from our end there were no teething troubles whatsoever – superbly organised, great communication throughout, everyone involved made it an absolute joy, pleasure and privilege to be a part of. We still talk of it all in the office with great fondness and affection – and I still have photos from that night on the notice board in my office as a reminder of a wonderful time!!! Good luck to everyone involved this year.

What a great evening. I thought it was just right for such an event. Well done to you. I didn’t get to do any dancing but I thought the band were terrific; I have not heard Queen sung by a female quite as good as we did last night. The brownies were incredible and I am sure a second helping of those must have gone home in a few pockets! What a great big smile Tom had accepting his Dad’s award. A really good evening was had by all.

We were very honoured to be chosen to attend the awards and even though we came third we were made to feel like winners and got the same media coverage as the main winners. The awards evening was a wonderful event (and we were very grateful the weather was good to us). The hay bales and relaxed atmosphere for the ceremony was a welcome change. Maybe you could open up some new categories in future years but we will most definitely enter again in 2015 as it will be our 30th anniversary year and an award would top it off.
